What do I need to bring to this class?

Equipment you will need for classroom instruction will be nothing more than a writing tablet/ legal pad for notes and a pen or pencil. You will be supplied with class appropriate NRA training material, which you will keep when your training is completed. It is recommended that you refer back to it as needed.
For the firearms qualification portion you will need to supply the following equipment, which you will use during your many practice sessions after completion of the class.

It is as follows:
Safety glasses of any style or design you choose. These MUST be either safety glasses, shooting glasses or prescription polycarbonate lenses!
Hearing protection of any design you choose but a Noise Reduction Rating of 27 decibels at the minimum. Disposable hearing protection plugs are allowed as long as the noise reduction rating is met.

Do I need to own a handgun to take this class?

No, you do not need to own a handgun in order to take this class. One will be available if necessary, just notify your instructor sometime during the classroom portion.

Are “air soft”, “paintball”, or other forms of air guns allowed?

No, regulations require that only those firearms using modern metallic cartridges be used.

Where can I find the safety or shooting glasses and hearing protection needed?

Any department store such as Wal-Mart or Target should have these items
in their sporting goods department. A sporting goods store or a gun shop will
have them for sale as well.

What is considered a concealed weapon?

You would be surprised! A few would be certain sizes of self-defense sprays, any electronic device designed to shock an individual.

What are the handgun requirements?

NO MAGNUM LOADS ALLOWED!
NO RELOADED AMMUNITION!
ONLY FACTORY MANUFACTURED AMMUNITION SPECIFIC TO YOUR FIREARM IS TO BE USED!
Please bring 50 rounds of ammunition for use at the firing range.
